Article 37 [ Lex arbitri and interpretation of Rules ]

  1. The arbitrations conducted in accordance with the Rules are governed in terms of procedure by Law 2735/1999 (Official Gazette A΄ 167) on International Commercial Arbitration, which adopted for Greece the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration (“Arbitration Law”). All matters not specifically addressed in the Rules are governed by the Arbitration Law.

  2. The agreement of the parties to apply the Rules has the meaning of an express agreement of the parties that the subject-matter of the arbitration agreement relates to more than one country.

  3. If a matter is not addressed by the Rules or the Arbitration Law, the arbitral tribunal shall act on the basis of the spirit of the Rules, having the exclusive authority to interpret and supplement them in its absolute discretion.
